Bristol businesses are being urged to take part in a major survey on skills and training, the results of which will help shape future investment and plug the skills gap now hitting firms across the West of England.

The survey, now in its third year, is staged by Business West, the region’s largest business group which runs Bristol Chamber of Commerce and the Bristol Initiative.

Among the issues covered by Business West’s Business Skills and Training Survey are:

  • Do businesses in the region have the right skilled staff for the year ahead?
  • With Brexit on the horizon, what skills do businesses need to succeed in 2018?
  • What recruitment methods will businesses use this year?

A Business West spokesman said: “By taking part you’ll not only help education providers and key decision makers to ensure that training provision in the region is relevant to business needs, but you’ll also be contributing to the overall West of England skills strategy, which guides skills investment in the region.”

The survey takes just 10 minutes to complete. All those taking part will be able to access the full anonymised results online. They also be entered into a prize draw to win Amazon or Cabot Circus gift cards worth £200, £75 or £50.
