Direct flights from Bristol Airport to Corsica are to be launched next summer. Tour operator Corsican Places will operate the service to Bastia in North East Corsica every Sunday for 13 weeks between June 23 and September 22, chartering aircraft from airline bmi regional.
The two-and-a-half-hour flights will be aboard 47-seater aircraft and departure Bristol at 11am with the return flight leaving Bastia at 4.30pm.
Corsican Places product manager Amandine Blanchard said: “We are delighted to introduce Bristol’s only flight service to Corsica for 2013 with bmi regional and are confident this will be a welcome addition for our loyal customers in the South West and also to new visitors from the region.
“Flexibility and choice of product, coupled with a first rate service are behind our core strengths and, following one of our best ever seasons, along with early demand for 2013 plus the impending launch of the Tour de France from Corsica for the first time next June, we predict another great season ahead.”

With a flight every week between the middle of June and September, there will be plenty of opportunities for holidaymakers across the South West and Wales to explore the beautiful island of Corsica.
“The flight brings an attractive new holiday destination within easy reach direct from Bristol. Working with Corsican Places demonstrates our commitment to supporting specialist independent tour operators in order to increase choice for customers in the region.”
Corsican Places have been providing holidays and flights to the island for 26 years.
