Independent Bristol cafe and events business Double Puc Cafe has formed a partnership with the city’s multi award-winning attraction Wake The Tiger to operate its café.

The partnership, under which Double Puc has also become Wake The Tiger’s exclusive event caterer, expands on its successful operations over the past six months as designated caterer for Bristol science centre and educational charity We The Curious.

Wake The Tiger, which describes itself as the world’s first immersive ‘amazement park’, has welcomed more than 300,000 visitors since it opened two-and-a-half years ago.

Last February it opened a major extension, doubling its size and adding 15 new walk-through fantasy art spaces and environments, and is now poised for continued growth with a strong focus on growing private and corporate events.

Double Puc said it would play a key role in supporting this growth with its commitment to high-quality, sustainable hospitality, ethical sourcing and community-oriented ethos.

Both companies said the opening, which officially took place today, marked a new chapter for them as they continue to prioritise sustainability and creativity in the experiences they offer.

As a certified B-Corp, Wake The Tiger shares Double Puc’s dedication to environmental and social responsibility.

Double Puc is the latest venture from Griff Holland and Ed Brown, who bring a wealth of experience from their previous Bristol-based catering business Friska.

The ethically minded café chain was founded in 2009 and grew to operate 12 sites across the UK prior to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Following its demise, Griff and Ed formed Double Puc Café, opening its first outlet in a former Friska site at Temple Quay.

Griff said: “We are delighted to be partnering with what is a truly inspiring venue. We look forward to contributing our expertise in sustainable hospitality and quality food to this incredible space.”

Wake The Tiger director Graham MacVoy added: “Double Puc Café’s commitment to sustainability and exceptional service aligns perfectly with our values, and we’re confident their presence will help elevate Wake The Tiger’s offerings for the many private and corporate events we’re set to host in 2025.”
