Long-standing Bristol creative agency Stuff has re-appointed by YTL Developments UK to help bring Brabazon – its trailblazing new neighbourhood on the former Filton Airfield – to market.

When completed, the area will have more than 2,600 homes, 52,000 sq ft of retail space and 62 acres of creative workspaces set in landscaped public squares and parkland.

In total, more than £100m is also being invested by YTL to improve local infrastructure with a new railway station, metro bus route, cycle paths and walking routes.

Stuff, which has worked with a wide range of national and local clients since its launch in 2005, was appointed last year as creative agency to launch the development – a role that included media creative, including for 96-sheet posters, pictured right, bus ‘mega backs’ pictured below, and press advertising with the strapline ‘Brabazon: A place that changes everything’.

YTL Developments had wanted a dedicated UK creative agency for this new work, with Stuff taken on following an original pitch last year involving London and South West-based agencies,

It has now been reappointed for all onward creative requirements and social as each phase of the neighbourhood comes to market.

Stuff owner and CEO Jonnie Galvin-Wright said: “With a heritage in great brands but also specifically in property and development marketing, we knew we could add our expertise and value to this project.

“We were delighted when we were appointed as this is such a step-change for mixed-use, masterplanned developments in the South West and in the UK generally.

“We look forward to creatively bringing that vision alive. To also win this work against good competition and, originally when the UK was in full lockdown, also showed what a brilliant team we have here.”

YTL Developments (UK) marketing & sales director Jon McDiarmid added: “Over the next 20 years, the historic former Filton Airfield is set to be transformed into the most exciting new city district in the South West.

“We needed a team with wide horizons to articulate the breadth of our vision for Brabazon, but with the local understanding to ensure it resonates with a community that is rightly proud of the former airfield’s amazing aviation heritage.

“Following an original very strong pitch process, we’re delighted to be working with Stuff at Brabazon.”

Stuff has worked with very large global business such as Mars’ Royal Canin dog food brand, National Grid and Trelleborg Group to organisations such as Miss Millies, Cheltenham and Gloucester NHS and very local organisations such as Sarah Kenny and Visit Bristol.
