For the second year in a row Warmley-based Bath Ales has been shortlisted in prestigious national awards that recognise quality and innovation in the pub trade.

The firm is a finalist in the Best Food Offer (2 – 50 sites) category in The Publican Morning Advertiser Awards, as well as being shortlisted for Best Operations Team (10-50 sites).

In last year’s awards Bath Ales won the coveted national accolade for Best Managed Pub Company (2-50 sites).

Managing director Robin Couling said: “To be in with a real chance to win such highly-regarded awards for the pub industry is such a great achievement for us and reflects how hard the team work. These awards recognise the very best in the industry and to be shortlisted for the second year running just shows the progress Bath Ales is making.”

“I know we have really delivered on our food offer to consumers and our operations generally, and although we’re up against some tough competition, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that our hard work will pay off when the winners are announced in March.”

Earlier this year, the brewer scooped a Gold Medal and trophy at the International Beer Challenge 2014 for ‘Best Ale up to 5% abv’ for its best-selling beer, Gem. The business recently secured the number 14 position in the Fast 50 list, a report produced by analysts for The Grocer magazine that names 50 of the fastest-growing, independently owned food and drink suppliers.

Bath Ales was established in 1995 and uses traditional brewing techniques with cutting-edge technology.

Its range of beers includes Barnsey, Dark Side, Wild Hare, Special Pale Ale and Ginger Hare as well as its top-selling Gem.

It also operates 12 pubs, bars and restaurants, including two inside Colston Hall, Bristol’s craft beer bar Beerd, The Wellington in Horfield and Graze Bar, Brasserie and Chophouse in Queen Square, pictured below.
