Three Bristol-based lawyers have set up a new specialist dispute resolution boutique practice after leaving one of the city’s largest full-service legal firms.
Partners Richard Loney, Alistair Stewart and Sarah Holland – who previously worked at Lyons Davidson – have launched Loney Steward Holland to specialise in the full range of commercial litigation.
Based in Bristol but with national reach, the partners have niche expertise in insurance coverage disputes and act for policyholders, brokers and insurers.
They say have established the firm to provide a truly independent, expert and agile service while cutting out the overheads and duplicated costs associated with larger, tied, firms.
Richard Loney, pictured above right, worked at Lyons Davidson for 18 years and was a partner head of its specialist litigation department, leading a team of more than 25 lawyers.
Alistair Stewart, pictured below, was a partner in Lyons Davidson’s commercial litigation department and worked at the firm for more than nine years. Sarah Holland, pictured below, spent six years at Lyons Davidson as a lawyer.
Between them they have 40 years’ specialist litigation experience.
Based at Temple Quay, Loney Steward Holland is benefiting from the partners’ client following to include continuing to act on an array of complex high-value disputes.
Each partner has a wealth of experience in insurance disputes, having acted for parties on both sides of the fence for many years in complex and high-value coverage matters.
Richard Loney said: “We’ve created a new offering, a firm with partner-led proactive client service at its heart.
“In the short time since we’ve launched, we’ve received amazing feedback, support and encouragement from clients and business partners.
“We are constantly developing additional partnerships with businesses, brokers and insurers and always available for informal discussions to see about getting things done.”
