Specialist legal expenses insurer Temple Legal Protection has appointed Andy Parkinson as head of corporate partnerships in its Bristol office.
He joins the base’s team of insurance professionals under the leadership of underwriting director Phil Bellamy.
Andy, pictured, has worked in the legal expenses insurance industry since 1986 and held a number of senior positions at Bristol firm DAS for more than 27 years until last year.
He has a track record of developing broker sales and corporate partnerships and specialised in developing relationships with banks, insurance companies, brokers, Lloyd’s syndicates and affinities.
His focus at Temple will be to develop its before-the-event (BTE) account through brokers, insurers and affinity partners.
He said: “Having spent a short time away from legal expenses insurance to fulfil some personal ambitions, the time is now absolutely right to come back to this specialist industry.
Guildford-headquartered Temple Legal Protection is known in the industry for taking an innovative approach to product development and for responding quickly to changes in the marketplace. The company, which has clients nationwide, is responsible for underwriting more than £50m of legal expenses insurance a year.
Phil Bellamy said: “I am delighted that Andy has chosen to re-enter the legal expenses insurance market with Temple here in Bristol. His vast experience and knowledge of the sector will help as we look to expand our BTE offerings throughout the region.”
Temple’s Bristol office offers the full range of the company’s BTE and ATE (after-the-event) legal expenses insurance products from the commercial and clinical negligence litigation areas of the business.
