The positive work environment at regional accountancy and advisory firm Bishop Fleming, which has the largest of its eight offices in Bristol, has been recognised by the Great Place to Work organisation.

The accolade follows a survey of the firm’s employees by the global authority on workplace culture, which has been gauging staff experiences for more than 40 years.

Bishop Fleming said the award was testament to its commitment to investing in its people and creating a workplace where employees can thrive and achieve their full potential.

It is the latest in a series of accolades for the firm and follows on from its success in the Accounting Excellence Investing in People Award last year and reaching 14th place in the UK index in the Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer rankings.

The firm, which has an ambitious strategy aimed at doubling its size over the next few years, expanded its office network last September to eight with the integration of a specialist Cheltenham tax practice.

The move also increased its total headcount by 50 to just under 500 people, including 40 partners.

Bishop Fleming managing partner Andrew Sandiford, pictured, said the spate of awards reflected the firm’s growth ambitions and commitment to excellence in everything it does, which had enabled it to build a strong presence in the mid-market and become a leading player in the industry.

He also said with its focus on innovation and delivering value to its clients, the firm was well-positioned to continue its growth trajectory and achieve even greater success in the years ahead.

“We are delighted to be recognised as a Great Place to Work. This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, who are the driving force behind our success,” he said.

“We are committed to investing in our people and creating a supportive and inclusive culture that enables everyone to reach their full potential.”

Bishop Fleming grew its fee income by nearly 20% in the 2021-2022 financial year, taking its turnover to nearly £33.2m.

The firm, which is ranked in the top 30 in the Accountancy Age league table, has a wealth of knowledge and experience in areas spanning personal tax, business & international tax, corporate finance, business recovery and insolvency, payroll services, forensic and litigation support, grant services, VAT, audit assurance and accounting.
