National law firm Bevan Brittan, which has an office in Bristol, has made its largest-ever number of annual promotions, with 10% of its lawyers taking up new roles.
The 32 promoted individuals include Liz Fletcher, pictured, who is made a partner in its Bristol office’s commercial & infrastructure team.
She is one of five new partners at the firm, which has also appointed a new legal director, 13 new senior associates and 13 new associates across its four offices. The number of promotions is twice last year’s.
The Bristol office promotions are senior associates Claire Jones (insurance), Claire Leonard (health, care & regulatory) Sarah Newton (property), Ed Reynolds (corporate & infrastructure) and Helen Troman (clinical negligence), and associates Tom Graham and Nathan Osoria (commercial), Nathan Greaves and Matt Watts and Shellby Payne (property), Harriet Wheeler (clinical negligence) and James Williams (health, care & regulatory).
Bevan Brittan managing partner Duncan Weir said the promotions reflected the “number of talented lawyers delivering outstanding client care” across the firm, which had enabled it to navigate the pandemic successfully and deliver another strong year.
The firm recorded its eighth consecutive year of growth in 2020/21 while also recruiting new talent, including eight new partners.
“It is wonderful news to be able to recognise the major contribution that each of our promoted colleagues have made to our business in recent years.
“We have dealt successfully with some of the toughest challenges we could have faced in the past two years and emerged a stronger business for it.
“That has been due to an amazing team effort across our four offices and across both our established and emerging markets. Our record round of promotions reflects the talent we have across our legal team.
He said that the promotions and the significant recruitment the firm had been able to undertake in the past 12 months were sign of a business in very good health.
“We’ve just completed another very strong year and we can now move forward with a clear plan in place for future growth,” he added.
Bevan Brittan also has offices in Birmingham, Leeds and London.
