Three new partners have been appointed by law firm Ashfords, including one in its Bristol office, in its latest rounds of promotions.

The move brings the number of partners at the firm to 77, with female representation now at 34%.

The new partners are Bristol-based real estate lawyer Ian Ramsay Tompkins, pictured, construction & infrastructure lawyer Lianne Edwards and trusts & estates lawyer Jonathan Hickman – both based in its Exeter office.

Ian specialises in the residential development sector, helping clients at all stages of the development lifecycle, from land purchase through to site set up and disposal.

He joined Ashfords five-and-a-half years ago from the Bristol office of Osborne Clarke, where he completed his training.

Lianne specialises in contentious construction matters acting contractors, sub-contractors and developers.

Her practice involves advising on claims for delay, acceleration, extensions of time and loss and expense, repudiatory breach of contract, terminations and final account disputes.

Jonathan advises on complex private wealth matters including trusts, estate planning & administration and the associated tax and allowance considerations. He also advises on complex wills, powers of attorney and deputyship applications.

Ashfords CEO and partner Louise Workman said: “We continue to invest in the firm and the trusted and expert support we can provide our clients across our commercial, real estate and private wealth services.

“Congratulations to our three new partners who will help us continue to grow our business by delivering an outstanding service for our clients.”

The partner appointments follow hot on the heels of five new senior hires in Bristol, which brought the total number of lawyers and trainees based in the office to well over 100 lawyers and added further weight to the firm’s business risk & regulatory, environmental, corporate, property disputes and trusts & estates legal capabilities.

Ashfords, which employs more than 500 people, also has offices in London and Plymouth.
