Regional construction consultancy firm Kendall Kingscott has been acquired by international environmental, engineering and technical group RSK in a deal handled by the Bristol office of accountancy firm Bishop Fleming.

Established in 1962, Kendall Kingscott is one of the leading inter-disciplinary construction consultancies across the South and South West, with more than 200 people operating from six hubs, including Bristol.

It has helped deliver some of the most complex projects across the region, working for prestigious clients such as NHS Trusts, universities, local authorities and major retail chains.

Its specialism in remodelling and adapting existing buildings helps clients deliver decarbonisation targets.

New owner RSK is a global leader in sustainability and helps its clients around the world minimise their impact on the planet.

The group said acquiring Kendall Kingscott supported its strategy to enhance its consultancy capabilities across the built environment, with particular focus on sustainable buildings, while providing Kendall Kingscott with a platform for accelerated growth.

Bishop Fleming’s team, which provided lead advisory services to Kendall Kingscott, was led by corporate finance partner Martyn Fraser, supported by corporate finance director Joe Coghlan and corporate finance manager Lindy Adams.

Kendall Kingscott managing director Andrew Bailey thanked the team for its support in completing this transaction.

“Their dedication to the deal has been exceptional and their expertise, experience and hands-on approach invaluable in structuring and delivery of a solution that will enable us to continue our growth journey,” he said.

Joe Coghlan, pictured, added: “Kendall Kingscott and RSK have a shared vision around the importance of delivering decarbonisation in the built environment.

“This transaction will enable Kendall Kingscott to accelerate its already impressive growth trajectory while maintaining an identity and culture developed over more than 60 years.

“It has been a pleasure working alongside the shareholders of Kendall Kingscott and I look forward to watching the business continue to thrive.”

Legal advice to the shareholders was provided by Charles van der Lande and Tom Storey at Bristol law firm Roxburgh Milkins.

Cheshire-based RSK now comprises more than 200 companies, employs more than 16,000 people and has an annual turnover of around £1.2bn.
