A multidisciplinary team from Bristol-headquartered VWV has advised a global leader in learning and development on its latest acquisition as it continues to expand around the world.

The takeover of Interactive Workshops is Cegos Group’s fourth in as many years and follows acquisitions in France, Portugal and Brazil.

Interactive Workshops, which employs 30 people across its HQ in London and an office in New York, designs and specialises in leadership development, sales, teambuilding and personal development training.

It will now merge with Paris-headquartered Cegos’ existing UK operations, consolidating its activities and driving forward its international growth strategy.

Cegos, which has an annual turnover of more than €250m (£207m), trains more than 250,000 people a year across 50 countries in Europe, Latin America and Asia Pacific in 20-plus languages.

VWV corporate team partner Emma Cameron, pictured, who led on the acquisition, said: “This is a timely acquisition for Cegos – helping to expand its role in the growing UK skills development market.”

She said the deal required long hours of work across various time zones but VWV, Cegos and its corporate finance advisor Grant Thornton, led by Andrew Frame, worked hard to bring the deal to a successful conclusion.

“We were delighted to be part of the buy-side team,” she added.

The VWV team included Hannah Radclyffe and Harnik Singh (senior associate and solicitor, corporate team respectively), Rowena Witter (senior associate, property team), Alex Ueno-Park (partner, tax team), Andrew Gallie (partner, data protection team), Michael Delaney (partner, employment team) and Paul Gershlick (partner, commercial team).

VWV, which can trace its history back to the early 19th century, has 90 partners and employs 500-plus staff across its Bristol headquarters and offices in London, Watford and Birmingham.
