Accountancy and business advisory firm BDO has appointed Jamie Smith as partner in its Bristol office in a move that expands its South West team while also strengthening its financial services capabilities.
Jamie, pictured, brings 17 years’ experience to the role during which he has helped a wide range of audited entities, from FTSE 100 international groups to private equity-backed regulated groups and owner-manager businesses. 
He joins BDO from PwC, having spent his entire career with the firm, most recently as a director in its Bristol office.
At BDO he will lead the South West financial services audit team and form a key part of its national financial services team.
The appointment follows the arrival late last year of Phil Duma as a partner in BDO’s financial services transaction services team based in Bristol, demonstrating what the firm said was its ongoing investment in the region in financial services. Phil Duma also joined from PwC’s Bristol office.
