Online store looking to take the headache out of buying quality low and no-alcohol drinks

Three Bristol entrepreneurs have teamed up to launch an online store specialising in the best no and low-alcohol drinks from across the globe.

Positive Drinks Co is built on the idea of making positive choices around drinks.

The trio behind it – David Darke, Piers Tincknell and James Bunting – believe it should not matter whether someone is completely sober or just experimenting with moderation, they should have the same quality of options available to them as if they were browsing a wine list.

The three friends-turned-founders, who already run successful businesses, have a passion for non-alcoholic drinks.

They are on a mission to empower drinkers everywhere to choose what they want, when they want it, without anyone batting an eyelid.

Positive Drinks Co supplies no and low-alcohol drinks ranging from beers, ciders and wine to spirits and aperitifs.

Piers and David are co-founders of Bristol WordPress specialist Atomic Smash while James runs New Make Communications, which specialises in the drinks industry with a focus on product expertise.

Piers said: “No one asks if you’re a vegetarian just because you order a margarita pizza, yet still people are having to defend their decision to drink a non-alc option.

“We want to help those people by providing the best drinks around to be enjoyed with or without booze.

“We’ve always talked about wanting to sell great-tasting drinks to people who want great-tasting drinks. Positive Drinks Co is exactly that.

“We’ve curated a selection of amazing drinks that anyone will love, regardless of whether they drink alcohol or not.”

Positive Drinks Co’ launch comes as growth in the no and low alcohol segment shows no signs of slowing.

Globally, the market is now worth $13bn (£10.3bn), with annual growth in the UK expected to be upwards of 7% until 2027.
