The Bristol office of international professional services firm Aon is celebrating after six of its pensions team were announced as finalists in the prestigious Women in Pensions Awards.

The shortlisted individuals have been nominated by peers in the sector in recognition of being a trailblazer, for going above and beyond, or for being an inspiring newcomer.

The Women in Pensions Awards are focused on appreciating the most remarkable achievements of women in the sector as they push to improve the industry for all.

The 17 categories range from Lifetime Achievement to Pensions Woman of the Year and from Young Achiever to Unsung Hero.

In total, 40 women from Aon have been shortlisted, with the Bristol cohort made up of Hatty Goodwin, Leah Evans, Linette Newton, Ruth Mooney, Sasha Francis and Vasiliki Tasouri.

Linette said: “Being nominated for these awards is something I’m very proud of.

“Recognition for the accomplishments of the diverse and dynamic female talent in the sector is not only a cause for celebration, but also ensures we continue to make the industry as open and flexible as possible so that it is a more sustainable industry for all.”

The finalists will now answer a series of questions to support their nomination before the winners are announced at a black-tie awards ceremony on 14 November at the Hilton London Bankside hotel.

The Women in Pensions Awards are open to those working for firms operating in the UK’s pensions industry as well as those either working for, or governing, individual occupational pension schemes.

British-American professional services and management consulting firm AON employs around 50,000 people across 120 countries. It has 26 offices across the UK, including Bristol.
