Each week Bristol Business News gives a member of the city’s business community the last word on its weekly e-bulletin. This week Claritas Tax Bristol partner Rob Brown answers our 10 questions.
Film you watched? Fast X. Fast cars and a very loose storyline – great escapism.
Book you read? Never Split the Difference – Chris Voss
Music you bought/downloaded? I have very eclectic taste in music – probably an 80s compilation!
Concert or play you went to? Jack Johnson – but the one before was Stormzy (see answer above!)
Sporting event you attended? The British Grand Prix
Holiday you went on? A New York city break in December.
Restaurant you ate in? Wilsons on Chandos Road. Excellent seasonal food for that special occasion.
Thing that annoyed you? Someone stopped on a B road to be polite and let someone pull out. I nearly got hit by a van driver who didn’t expect me to stop – read the Highway Code!
Thing that made you laugh out loud? Watching Airplane!. Giving my age away – and I am not sure this would be made today.
Piece of good advice you were given? You have two ears and one mouth for a reason – listen more and talk less.
Rob opened the Claritas Bristol office earlier this year. He trained in London with BDO and has specialised in advising both individuals and businesses on tax matters from inception to a liquidity event. He moved to Bristol in 1996 to further his career and enjoy the West Country life, spending time with PwC and BDO before joining a long-standing client as group CFO. When this business was sold to private equity, he joined a regional firm as a tax partner in the Bristol Office before joining Claritas Tax to focus on tax solutions for businesses and private clients.
