Independent Bristol agency collective Istoria Group has launched a new business to meet a growing demand for digital experiences.

Called Tiny Spark, it is made up of the digital team from the group’s exhibition design agency Ignition.

As a result, it already had an established client list ahead of its launch as a stand-alone agency, including Clue Computing, Self Agency (neurodiversity consultants), Better Together (online safety) and Groundtruth Global.

With a team of eight, Tiny Spark, which is focused on digital experiences and sensory storytelling for purposeful, growing businesses, has ambitious growth plans in place.

Tiny Spark managing digital director Alex Saxon said: “We’re hugely proud of the contribution we’ve been able to make to Ignition since 2020.

“Now, with demand for digital experiences increasing at pace, it’s time for us to offer our own unique proposition, while continuing to support the physical exhibition arm of the Istoria business.

“We’re always striving to innovate, particularly to bridge the gap between tech and physical, providing people with new and personalised experiences that help brands connect with customers on a sensory level.”

Istoria Group CEO Sam Rowe, who is also Ignition’s CEO, added: “One of the great advantages of being independently owned is that we have the freedom to recognise the immense value our teams bring and can flex and grow our business in the way that suits our people and our customers best.

“During lockdown, all live events came to a global standstill. As an agile business, we quickly pivoted to create a world-class digital events offer for our clients.

“We recruited the best digital talent to help us develop the offer, getting it up and running within three months.

“The Tiny Spark team has become a critical part of Ignition and the wider Istoria Group over the last four years and it’s time for them to flourish in their own right, supported like all of us by the culture, processes and systems of the collective. I look forward to seeing what is in store for this fantastic team.”

Istoria was founded in 2007 with a vision to balance people and planet with profit.

Female-owned and B Corp accredited, it also includes interior design and branding Phoenix Wharf.

Its ambitious 2024 business strategy includes plans for profitable growth up to 2030, alongside bold commitments to become carbon neutral, provisions for volunteering and increased pro bono support for underrepresented businesses and communities.
