Joanne Webber, a Bristol-based tax partner at national audit, tax and consulting firm RSM UK, has become managing partner for its office in the city.
Joanne, pictured, has more than 21 years’ experience working with organisations on global mobility and global people issues. She also leads the firm’s national global employer services team.
She joined RSM seven years ago having previously worked in the Bristol offices of two ‘big four’ accountancy firms – KPMG, where she was a tax consultant for four years, and then Ernst & Young (now EY), where she spent 10 years as a tax manager and senior tax manager.
Joanne is a specialist in advising companies on the challenges associated with having an internationally mobile workforce, including global workforce management and strategy, global tax and social security compliance, and tax policies.
Throughout her career she has worked on a diverse portfolio of clients, including in the manufacturing and technology sectors. She has a large corporate focus, mostly consisting of multinational groups.
As office managing partner, Joanne will focus on further strengthening the RSM brand in the regional marketplace while also driving forward the strong momentum and team culture for its 240 employees.
She succeeds Kate Reid, pictured, who held the role for 10 years and has now retired from the firm.
Joanne said taking on the office managing partner role in Bristol was a big milestone in her RSM career and a real honour.
“I’m looking forward to acting as an ambassador for our business and, importantly, collaborating with colleagues to continue to build a sense of community here at RSM and with the wider region,” she added.
“Thanks to Kate’s leadership over the past decade, the Bristol office has already seen significant growth, so I’m excited to extend our market presence further to benefit our clients.”
RSM UK South regional managing partner Paul Anthony said Joanne had done a brilliant job at driving forward the firm’s national global employer services team.
“She understands what businesses and their people need which is valuable experience to take into the managing partner role,” he added.
“I look forward to supporting Joanne throughout this next phase of her career and as we continue to expand regionally.”
Bristol is one of RSM UK’s 30 offices across the UK, which between them employ 4,715 partners and staff.
