The impact and implications of legaltech for the law, legal sector and wider society and economy will be highlighted at a conference in Bristol next month.
Staged by Bristol+Bath LegalTech, the event will look at how the dramatic developments ushered in by technology will drive change across all aspects of the legal world.
WE R LegalTech 2024 takes place at Paintworks on Bath Road between 10am and 6pm on 16 April with the title ‘Right around the corner: how – and how fast – will Legaltech change the legal world’.
The day’s programme is targeted at senior leaders, partners and technologists/innovators in the legal sector but would also appeal to anyone with a passion for and interest in how the legal world is changing as a result of technological advances.
The event is the first one-day conference staged by Bristol+Bath LegalTech since it was launched five years ago.
The organisation, a collaborative network of law firms, legal tech companies and educationalists, believes that amid a slew of other legal technology events and posts its programme’s focus and intent is unique.
It will be followed by two days of festival events, which are currently in the planning stage and will be announced soon.
Bristol+Bath LegalTech said: “We are very excited to be bringing this new major regional conference to Bristol that provides an opportunity for tech companies, consultancies and others to engage, promote their association with the UK’s leading regional legaltech community and get in front of the largest gathering yet of the movers, shakers and leaders who are building the future of legal services and legaltech in the West of England.”
The region is home to what is thought to be the biggest concentration of legal technologists working in the UK outside London – 850 at the last count in 2021.
A report commissioned that year by the Bristol Law Society, the West of England Combined Authority (WECA) and Bristol+BathLegalTech, concluded that the West of England had the potential to become the UK’s leading centre for the fast-growing legaltech sector outside of London, according to a new report.
