National audit, tax and consulting firm RSM UK’s Bristol office has appointed Martin Brown as share schemes director in its employer solutions team.
Martin, pictured, specialises in advising firms on designing and implementing employee share plans, workplace incentives and employee ownership trusts.
He also has tax expertise in employment-related securities matters, including the taxation of management shareholdings on company sales and transactions.
He joins from regional accountancy firm PKF Francis Clark’s Taunton office, where he spent seven years leading its share plan and reward offering.
Prior to that he worked at KPMG and Grant Thornton.
His experience extends across a wide range of organisations, including small start-ups, mid-market businesses and larger multinationals in the FTSE 100 and Fortune 500, as well as US-listed companies.
He has also advised on cross-border share plan structuring which can be rolled out in multiple jurisdictions.
In his new role at RSM, Martin will be responsible for the share schemes offering locally, regionally and nationally, and will focus on the continued growth of the firm’s expertise and capabilities within employer solutions.
RSM UK director Martin Brown said: “Incentivisation of the workforce is of utmost importance if businesses are to attract, motivate and retain employees to drive performance and achieve their strategic goals. But one size doesn’t fit all.
“It’s key to understand an organisation’s individual needs and goals to produce a solution that will make a difference to their business and their employees.”
RSM UK Bristol employer solutions partner Joanne Webber added: “Martin’s experience will be invaluable in bolstering our offering and the support we’re able to provide clients both regionally and nationally. It’s great to have him on board.”
Bristol is one of RSM UK’s 30 offices across the UK, which between them employ 4,715 partners and staff.
