A highways surfacing firm has called in Bristol specialist vehicle leasing firm Vanaways to help it accelerate its impressive growth over the next decade.

Founded in 2918, Trinity Surfacing reached an annual turnover of £16.8m in the 12 months to last July, with staff numbers growing to 70.

Now the Rochester, Kent-based firm is targeting 20% to 30% growth year-on-year for the next decade through a mixture of UK-wide contracts with commercial developers and highway works with local authorities.

To support its growth Trinity has chosen Vanaways as its van supplier and has already secured a new welfare vehicle – a Fiat Ducato 2.2 Multijet 140, pictured – and a Ford Transit Connect L2. It expects to lease a further six to 10 vehicles over the next year.

Trinity Surfacing director Ben Bridges said: “As we approach our sixth anniversary, the decision to acquire new vehicles is emblematic of both a strategic growth trajectory and a proactive approach to fleet management.

“Our new acquisitions represent a blend of fleet modernisation, operational efficiency and the proactive anticipation of customer demands, all in line with our overarching mission to excel in the realm of asphalt surfacing and civil solutions.”

He said the firm was excited to announce Vanaways as its new partneron its journey towards operational excellence.

“The collaboration is already excellent, with efficient ordering, a user-friendly platform and knowledgeable staff,” he added.

“We have tight timelines but Vanaways have gone above and beyond expectations to expedite the process, minimising any potential disruptions to our operations.

“We’re continually investing in our fleet, including changing our vans which aren’t ULEZ compliant, so we’ll be speaking to Vanaways much more in future.”

Vanaways is undergoing spectacular current growth of its own, having moved into new offices in Ham Green last year.

Its turnover has risen dramatically over the past 12 months from £55m in 2022.

Working with a large network of suppliers across the UK, the company offers free delivery with a digitalised sales process which enables quick fulfilment of the customer’s fleet needs.

In the meantime, staff numbers have risen to 72 as it completed sales on more than 5,000 vehicle sales last year.

Vanaways business development director Liam Nicholas said the firm was delighted to be  Trinity Surfacing’s vans partner as it looks to grow rapidly.

“Not being tied to any dealership means we’re able to source the widest possible range of vehicles for any purpose,” he added.

“This welfare van for Trinity Surfacing will provide site teams with the facilities they need to do their job properly.”
