Strong performances across all its practice areas helped boost annual South West revenues by 15% at accountants and business advisory group Deloitte.
The group, which operates across the region from its base in Temple Quay, Bristol, reported revenues of £69m for the year to May 31, a 15% year-on-year increase.
Regional practice senior partner Denis Woulfe, pictured, said: “Although the region has faced another challenging year, I’m pleased that our practice has delivered a strong performance. We have also continued to invest in our people with a significant number of senior promotions, including three new partners, and moves which will support our clients in unlocking growth opportunities in what continues to be a complex business environment.
“Each of our practice areas has continued to perform strongly this year, enabling us to keep building our market share within the region. Financial services has once again performed particularly strongly. In tax, further expansion into new areas has resulted in what I believe to be a market leading performance. Consulting also reported a strong performance against a backdrop of curtailed discretionary spend in both the public and private sectors. Despite the current economic picture, we anticipate further opportunities for growth over the course of the coming year.”
He said the ‘feelgood factor’ generated by the London 2012 Games had been tangible across the region and it was imperative that businesses now try to harness this energy, drive and ambition to usher in a new era of prosperity.
Deloitte is the official professional services partner to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and has provided 130 secondees and 200 advisory projects to the Organising Committee and, in all, will have contributed more than 750,000 hours of expertise to the Games.
