The Bristol office of accountants and investment management group Smith & Williamson has advised builders’ merchants and timber processors Bradfords on its acquisition of roof truss manufacturing and contract tiling company Aspect East Anglia.
The deal will enable Yeovil-based Bradfords to expand into new areas of the UK and increase its market share.
Bradfords’ chairman Andrew Merriam said: “The acquisition will strengthen our existing timber engineering and manufacturing businesses by providing an opportunity to expand geographically and the potential to gain a larger share of the market.”
All Aspects’ management and staff will join Bradfords.
Smith & Williamson’s Bristol office managing partner Mike Lea, pictured, said: “We are pleased to have worked closely with our client to understand their specific business requirements and ensure the transaction take place as smoothly and with as little disruption as possible.” The acquisition is the latest in a series of South West deals handled by Smith & Williamson's Bristol office.
Alan Howard, managing director of Norfolk-based Aspect, said: “Having made the decision to start to withdraw from the business and pursue other interests, I was anxious that Aspect East Anglia became part of a larger organisation with the necessary resources to continue to develop and at the same time to safeguard the jobs of the employees.
“I am therefore pleased that Aspect East Anglia is to become part of the Bradfords Group which has an excellent record of growth and profitability.”
