Bristol Airport has won an award from web portal Essential Travel for its Silver Zone car park – the first on-site parking space to receive the monthly accolade.

The car park award, presented every month since May 2011, is based on customer reviews of their own experiences. Thousands of responses were received by Essential Travel (www.essentialtravel.co.uk)including many nominations for staff who went the extra mile and provided “exceptional service”.

Due to the volume of positive comments, Essential Travel wanted to recognise the entire Silver Zone team so along with the award certificate, they also received one month’s supply of biscuits.

Bristol Airport has invested more than half a million pounds in car park improvement schemes this year, including launching a mobile phone-enabled car park booking site, enhancements to the long stay car park, improved signage and pick-up and drop-off areas in the Silver Zone car park.

Some £200,000 has been invested in premier parking to meet the increase in demand for passengers wanting convenient parking close to the terminal.

Airport commercial manager – ground transportation – Peter Downes said: “These initiatives demonstrate we listen to passengers on the services and products that Bristol Airport provides and we continue to look at ways we can enhance the customer experience. The feedback we received told us that more passengers wanted the unrivalled convenience and ease of access to the terminal that our premier car park offers.

"With these improvements on top of all on-site car parks already holding the Park Mark safer parking award, we’re making it even easier for customers to park at Bristol Airport, from the point of booking right through to arrival and departure.”
