The specialist cohabitation team at regional law firm Wards Solicitors has been strengthened with the appointment of a new assistant solicitor.
Rebecca Max, pictured, will be based in Wards’ central Bristol office and will work on all areas of cohabitation law, from preparing cohabitation agreements and Declaration of Trusts, to assisting with disputes arising from separating unmarried couples and the division of their assets.
Rebecca, who qualified as a solicitor in 2016, joins from specialist law firm Novum’s Bristol office, where she worked on claimant clinical negligence cases, catastrophic injury cases and Human Rights Act work.
An experienced litigator, she has also previously worked for DAC Beachcroft in Bristol, where she represented NHS trusts, GPs and private clinicians in defending clinical negligence claims brought against them.
Rebecca, who trained in Bristol at Simpson Millar, said: “Due to my background in dealing with brain injured clients, those who have suffered a medical complication and those families who have lost a loved one, I am able to empathise with clients and put them at ease during what can often be a difficult or daunting time in their life.
“I am really excited to join Wards and its highly regarded disputes team, and I am looking forward to supporting our clients and local communities across the South West.”
Wards head of disputes Elizabeth Fry added: “We are delighted to have Rebecca on board. Her experience perfectly complements our cohabitation team as we continue to develop our high-quality service and expertise to clients.”
Wards Solicitors employs more than 75 legal specialists, including 37 at partner level, across its 12 offices in and around Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.
