Real estate services specialist JLL has made two appointments to its Bristol-based project management team as it looks to broaden the range of senior level expertise and specialist consultancy advice available to clients.
Paul Smith, pictured right, has joined as director from Currie & Brown in Bristol, where he worked for more than 14 years.
He brings a wealth of project management experience to JLL, including working across a range of projects including student residential, offices, higher education, local authority, industrial as well as private clients.
Dan Gibbs, pictured below, has joined as an associate from Lidl’s property team in Avonmouth where, since 2018, he has been managing store delivery from the land acquisition stage to new builds, fit outs, alterations and refurbishment.
Prior to this, he worked in London project management consultancy Wood, focussing mainly on Heathrow Airport expansion projects and for three years before that with BAM as a site manager.
Having worked as contractor, consultant and client, Dan brings a unique spread of expertise.
The appointments come as JLL’s Bristol office undertakes a number of high-profile projects in the city, including Millwrights Place and Coopers Court – part of phase two of major regeneration scheme Finzels Reach, which will bring new build-to-rent and affordable housing to the city.
The team is also working on one of the largest Passivhaus student accommodation schemes at the University of the West of England and at the 200,000 sq ft EQ development on Victoria Street, the first new-build office in Bristol to commit to being carbon net zero in operation.
JLL Bristol head of project and cost management Barnaby Dodwell said: “We are thrilled to have Paul and Dan joining the project management team at a time when so many new and exciting projects are underway and in the pipeline.
“Paul’s impressive track record and experience will bring valuable expertise to the team and Dan brings real insight from contractor, client and consultant viewpoints which will add immense value.”
