Bristol-headquartered national law firm TLT has strengthened its trust and estate team with the appointment of Claire Johnson as legal director.
Claireās appointment follows a growth in demand for the firmās tax and succession planning expertise in the domestic and international sphere from private and corporate clients.Ā
Claire, pictured, has more than 25 yearsā legal and tax experience and has long been recognised as a leading individual in the Welsh private client market, where she previously headed the private client offering at Morgan Cole. She has also worked at Geldards, Leo Abse & Cohen and Howells Solicitors.
As well as regularly working with high net worth families, Claire has also focussed on advising business owners, working closely with corporate colleagues to provide a joined-up approach to business succession and personal planning.
TLT partner and head of trust and estate team Patrick Wooddisse said Claireās reputation and experience further enhanced the firmās wealth planning offering for both private clients and those in the bank and corporate sectors.
Claire added: āIām pleased to be joining the team at TLT during such a pivotal time in the trust and estate sector.
āIndeed, the pandemic has, if anything, sharpened peopleās focus on the importance of planning for the future.
āIn an uncertain world, a common conundrum for many is how best and when to pass on family wealth, or the family business, in a measured and protected way whilst reducing the burden of inheritance tax.ā
She said as well as enjoying the quality and breadth of work for TLTās āenviableā base of private and corporate clients, she was also looking forward to supporting the team during a time of growth and development.
TLT, which has more than 140 partners and around 1,200 staff across its seven offices, won the Law Firm of the Year title at The Lawyer Awards last year.
