The role of the financial services sector in the drive towards a low carbon economy will be explored at an event to be staged next week by Bristol-based green investment firm Rathbone Greenbank.

Its 24th annual Investor Day – which this year takes place virtually – will look at how people and communities can be put at the heart of the transition needed to meet the UK government’s goal of net zero emissions by 2050.

Titled Financing a Just Transition, the event takes place next Wednesday, June 9 between 10am and midday.

Speakers will include:

  • Nick Robins, Professor in Practice – Sustainable Finance, Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment, London School of Economics
  • Kingsmill Bond, CFA, Energy Strategist, Carbon Tracker
  • Sharan Burrow, General Secretary, International Trade Union Confederation
  • Rachel McEwen, Chief Sustainability Officer, SSE, member of the Scottish Government’s Just Transition Commission
  • Nicola Day, Deputy Head of Rathbone Greenbank Investments.

Delegates can either live stream the event or watch the presentations ‘on demand’ at a later date.
