Bristol-based ‘intelligent video’ innovator One Big Circle has been selected to take part in a national programme linking tech scale-ups with the UK’s largest transport firms.
The firm, which already supplies its cutting-edge technology to Network Rail, Transport for Wales and Siemens, is one of just nine taking part in global accountancy group PwC’s prestigious Scale Transport Programme. 
Its inclusion offers One Big Circle the opportunity to demonstrate its award-winning technology to major organisations in the sector.
The programme connects authorities, operating companies and large infrastructure companies committed to revolutionising the rail industry through 10 weeks of networking events, masterclasses, business coaching and support.
One Big Circle was set up three years ago by a team of four successful technology experts – Emily Kent, Ian Packer and Bristol University alumni Barnaby Kent and Sam Low.
Its in-cab technology provides real-time video footage that is instantly accessible online, supplying valuable data and insight directly from the train to the cloud. It is also working on a scheme that helps prevent anti-social behaviour or emergencies on railway station platforms.
It is at the forefront of video capture and accessibility while also working collaboratively to enhance legacy systems. It has developed the AIVR (Automated Intelligent Video Review) system to enable industrial organisations to capture video of the environments they need to intelligently monitor, increasing safety and improving performance.

One Big Circle’s technology is also being used in other sectors. Last year it secured funding with UWE Bristol as part of a consortium to create an innovative AI system aimed at keeping workers safe on construction sites.
