A student at Bristol Grammar School is set to benefit from an annual sponsorship courtesy of Clifton-based chartered accountants Whyatt Pakeman Partners.

Whyatt Pakeman has agreed to support a business studies or economics student in the school’s 6th form.

Roger Pimblett, a partner at the firm, said: “At Whyatt Pakeman we are always keen to support local schools and help develop and nurture the accountants and businessmen and women of the future.

“We’re proud to have developed this sponsorship package with Bristol Grammar School which has a fine tradition of academic achievement.

“We hope that this sponsorship will assist a talented pupil to achieve their academic goals.”

It is likely that the sponsorship will be awarded to a new entrant in the lower 6th based on a specific set piece of work and other criteria yet to be determined.

The award will be made at the start of the new academic year in September.

Rod MacKinnon, Bristol Grammar School headmaster said school was delighted to be able to reward the achievements of a star pupil with this award.

He said: “It is vital that we encourage achievement and attainment through rewards such as this.

“We are delighted that thanks to Whyatt Pakeman we can publicly recognise this achievement in economics and business.

“At Bristol Grammar School , we are always keen to work with fantastic local firms and organisations such as Whyatt Pakeman.

“We would like to thank the firm for this generous sponsorship, which will be a great motivator to all the pupils at the school.”
