Partner with ‘big four’ background takes up new role in Smith & Williamson’s restructuring team

Business turnaround specialist Tim Sloggett has joined financial and professional services firm Smith & Williamson as a partner in its Bristol-based restructuring and recovery services (RRS) team.

Tim, pictured, has arrived from ‘big four’ accountancy firm KPMG, where he worked as a director for just over three years with clients on turnarounds, refinancing, accelerated business sales and formal restructuring processes. 

Prior to that he spent five years as a corporate business support director with Barclays, working with a wide range of underperforming businesses providing advice and funding to support their turnaround strategies. He has also worked with accountancy group Deloitte.

As a result, he has experience working with local owner-managed businesses through to large corporate global listed corporates, across a wide range of sectors.

Being born and bred in Bristol and passionate about the region, he will now focus his efforts on supporting local businesses in his new role at Smith & Williamson.

His appointment follows the recent announcement of 16 promotions at Smith & Williamson in Bristol, including three new directors and seven associate directors. He will work alongside fellow Bristol-based RRS partner Gil Lemon.
