An associate in Bristol-headquartered national law firm Burges Salmon’s private client services team, has achieved one of the highest scores in exams staged by her professional association.
Helen MacLeod, pictured, has been named as a winner in this year’s STEP Excellence Awards, recognising her high achievement in the STEP Advanced Certificate qualification.
Having sat the exam for the STEP Advanced Certificate in Taxation of Trusts and Estates (England & Wales) at the end of last year, Helen was one of the highest-scoring graduates of the intake globally and has been named in the organisation’s 2020 awards.
STEP is the professional association for practitioners worldwide who specialise in family inheritance and succession planning.
STEP qualifications demonstrate specialist knowledge and expertise and are widely recognised as the benchmark in the private client and wealth planning sector. Those recognised in the awards represent the best and brightest practitioners and are signalled as ones to watch.
Helen said: “STEP qualifications are highly regarded in the sector given the organisation’s focus on promoting high standards and professional excellence, so I was very pleased to learn I had been named as a winner in STEP’s Excellence Awards as one of the highest-scoring graduates.”
Burges Salmon partner John Barnett, who heads the firm’s private client services team, added: “Helen has worked with great commitment towards this qualification and her success in the STEP Advanced Certificate is an impressive achievement.
“The team is delighted that Helen has been recognised in the 2020 Excellence Awards, bearing testament to her experience and expertise.
“Burges Salmon and our private client services practice take great pride in the high calibre of our people and their commitment to providing our clients with specialist knowledge and excellent quality of service. Helen is no exception.”
