National property consultancy Carter Jonas has opened its new Bristol office following the acquisition earlier this year of city-based Williams Gunter Hardwick – a move that gave it a base in Bristol for the first time.
The 4,833 sq ft office in St Catherine’s Court, Berkeley Place, Clifton, brings together Carter Jonas’ South West commercial, rural and planning & development teams into one central hub, including the relocation of staff from its Bath office.
The office, which will initially have more than 40 staff, is led by Andrew Hardwick, one of the founding directors of Williams Gunter Hardwick. It will be supported by the firm’s five other South West offices including Bath, which has undergone a complete refurbishment and will now provide accommodation for the firm’s residential team.
Carter Jonas chief executive Mark Granger said the Bristol hub was opening as the firm came to the end of a five-year strategic plan.
“The South West is an important part of this strategy. In response to client demand, we have increased the number of offices in the region to offer a broader range of services and provide easier access to our teams,” he said.
“Our new Bristol office and the refurbished office in Bath are both modern, open-plan workspaces that encourage collaboration and interaction between our people working across all service lines.
“The hub in Bristol and the offices beyond, provide our teams with the best possible platform to support our clients and increase our already commanding market position in the South West.”
Andrew Hardwick added: “Since joining Carter Jonas in May, we have felt the benefits of working within a network of like-minded professionals and with specialists offering a wide range of services across all asset classes.
“For our clients, it has provided a new energy, access to the most advanced systems and exposure to the great wealth of Carter Jonas’ property expertise and experience.”
Carter Jonas’ relocation from Williams Gunter Hardwick’s office in Clifton Heights on Triangle West to the ground floor office in St Catherine’s Court means only one floor remains unoccupied of the four-storey Grade A building, which is also home to rival commercial property agency Avison Young and chartered accountants Saffery Champness.
Carter Jonas has 33 offices across the UK employing around 700 people working across residential, farms and estates, development land, offices, industrial and retail buildings.
