The banking and finance team in law firm Ashfords’ Bristol office has been boosted with the appointment of Ed Hobbs as a partner.
Ed, pictured, joins from national firm Burges Salmon’s Bristol head office, where he worked for six years as a senior associate. Prior to that he spent just over five and a half years at London firm Linklaters.
He advises clients including banks, other financial institutions, corporates and funds on a broad range of finance transactions. His practice focuses on corporate banking, acquisition and leveraged finance, real estate finance, energy and infrastructure finance and asset-backed finance.
Respected legal sector directory Chambers and Partners has highlighted his “excellent communication and great understanding of clients” and he is also recommended in the rival Legal 500 publication.
Ashfords said his arrival reflected continued growth and expansion of its offering and expertise in the financial sector.
Partner Rebecca Dury said: “Our banking team has grown rapidly in the last couple of years and Ed’s experience to date will complement our client offering on both lender and borrower transactional work – we’re delighted to welcome him to the team.”
Ed Hobbs added: “I am delighted to be joining Ashfords at such an exciting time for the firm and very much look forward to being part of the continued expansion in Bristol and beyond.”
Ashfords employs around 500 people across its offices in Bristol, Exeter, London, Taunton, Tiverton and Plymouth.
