The intellectual property (IP) and commercial team at Bristol-headquartered national law firm Burges Salmon’s has advised Virgin Sport on its multi-year partnership with Nike.
Under the deal Nike has become a partner of Virgin Sport’s Hackney Festival of Fitness, through which Virgin Sport and Nike will encourage 10,000 Londoners to run their first 5k.
They will also be unlocking 1,300 Hackney Half places over the next two years and will also work together to offer wider opportunities in sport to the borough of Hackney.
The deal is the latest in a series of similar partnerships that Burges Salmon has advised Virgin Sport on, including with sports footwear and equipment brand Asics and light beer producer Michelob Ultra.
The Burges Salmon team included partner Helen Scott-Lawler and associate Neil Connor-McLaren.
Helen Scott-Lawler says: “We are really pleased to have worked with the Virgin Sport team on these partnership arrangements, which will further enhance the fantastic events that the Virgin Sport team stages.”
Virgin Sport chief executive officer Jessica Frey added: “We would like to thank Helen, Neil and the wider team at Burges Salmon for their support throughout this process, and for helping to bring these partnership arrangements to a conclusion.”
