Global customer service outsourcing firm Teleperformance has more than doubled its office space in Bristol in one of the largest office lettings in the city centre for 12 months.
In the deal, brokered by property consultancy JLL’s Bristol office, Teleperformance has taken a further 15,190 sq ft in the landmark Spectrum building, pictured, at the foot of the M32 and re-geared its existing lease of 10,000 sq ft.
Combined, this represents one of the largest deals of 2018 in the city centre office lettings market.
Teleperformance currently employs more than 500 people in Bristol, split between Spectrum and a site in Moon Street, Stokes Croft.
The expanded office space at Spectrum will be used to provide further quality space for its growing customer operations while being the UK registered office and home to its head office functions including finance, IT, risk, HR and business development
Since buying the building three years ago, Spectrum landlord Affinity Global Real Estate has invested heavily in refurbishing the space.
Affinity chief executive Robert Whitton said: “In a market where demand for high-quality offices is continually outstripping supply, the refurbishment of Spectrum Bristol has helped to deliver much-needed modern, flexible workspace.
“It’s excellent news that Teleperformance has decided to invest in expanding its offices at Spectrum Bristol, representing a sign of confidence in the city.”
JLL worked with V7 as the asset managers on behalf of Affinity.
JLL Bristol director Hannah Waterhouse added: “This latest letting means the entire ground floor of Spectrum Bristol is now let and the landlord can now push the button on the refurbishment of the last remaining floor.”
Teleperformance chief financial officer Karl Wise said the additional space in Spectrum Bristol enabled the firm to further progress its strategy of expanding into great working environments that benefitted its employees and were representative of the clients and brands it supports.
“Teleperformance is a strategic partner to the world’s leading companies, bringing solutions and enhancing customer experience during each interaction,” he said.
“The new space will deliver customer operations from a Bristol-based team that is highly skilled, deeply knowledgeable, supported with a wide range of integrated omnichannel solutions, technology and the highest security standards.”
JLL is joint agents with Knight Frank at Spectrum Bristol while LSH manages the building. Compton Rose advised Teleperformance in the deal.
Spectrum, a 114,000 sq ft six-storey office building with secure parking, provides high-quality, modern, flexible office suites from around 3,251 sq ft.
