Bristol law firm Barcan+Kirby has strengthened its team with the appointment of two trainee solicitors.
Helen Young and Holly Mehigan are both taking their first seats at the firm in the litigation and conveyancing departments respectively.
Helen is new to the firm and joins with a first-class degree from the University of Nottingham. She graduated with distinction in the Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course and is interested in specialising in family and employment law.
Holly joined Barcan+Kirby in 2014 as a paralegal working in both the personal injury and conveyancing departments. She will now start her training contract as part of the conveyancing team. Holly holds a degree in Law and has completed the Legal Practice Course.
The firm’s services, ranging from conveyancing to contentious probate, will allow both trainees to shadow senior solicitors with a variety of specialisms and turn their hands to a wide array of legal tasks.
They will also move between the firm’s six offices around Bristol and develop their client-handling skills through exposure to the firm’s varied customer base.
Barcan+Kirby executive partner Anna Wilson said: “Congratulations to Helen and Holly on their appointments as trainee solicitors. Our training programme provides them with a strong foundation on which to build a career in the legal profession.
“Our trainees are such an integral part of the firm’s overall success and we look forward to supporting Helen and Holly in their development over the next two years.”
