Food service group Arthur David, which supplies some of the UK’s top eateries, has invested £250,000 in a new ingredients hub in Bristol – creating at least 10 jobs and streamlining its operations.

The new facility on the Marketside Trading Estate, Albert Road, officially opens on Monday. It centralises the 55-year-old family-run company’s ingredients and fine foods goods operation, making it easier and quicker to supply its sites in Bishop Sutton between Bristol and Bath, and Bridgwater and, as a result, out to customers.

Joint MD Jon Evans said: “We’re delighted to be creating 10 jobs at the new hub with further employment opportunities being created at our sites at Bristol Fruit Market and Bishop Sutton – where we’re looking for night/day warehouse operatives and multidrop delivery drivers, especially as we head into our busiest time of the year.”

Arthur David employs more than 420 staff in food service and manufacturing. It supplies a wide range of fresh and frozen produce alongside an extensive range of ingredients and fine foods to outlets from Monmouthshire to central London, north as far as Birmingham and southwards to Devon.

Jon Evans added: “This new Ingredients Hub is a real boost for the ingredients and fine foods side of the business. We’re now in a better position to hold more stock, increase our product range offering and give our customers an even better service.”
