Industrial recruitment firm Gap Personnel has expanded into Bristol to take advantage of the planned Temple Quarter Enterprise Zone.
The firm has opened a base on Victoria Street in the city centre at what it describes as a “hugely exciting” time for the city’s economy.
South West regional director Richard Thorne said: “Expanding into Bristol is a natural progression for us. These are hugely exciting times for Bristol, with the Co-operative Group’s new £20m regional distribution centre due to open in Avonmouth, and the Temple Quarter Enterprise Zone on the way.
“Developments such as this mean Bristol and its job market are well placed to bounce back from a tough couple of years. gap wants to be a part of the city’s renaissance.”
Gap supplies temporary workers to firms in sectors including manufacturing, warehousing, waste management, recycling and food production.
Current clients in the Bristol area include Warburtons, wholesaler Palmer & Harvey and express parcel delivery firm DPD.
gap plans to take on up to 10 recruitment and administration staff at its Bristol branch in the coming months, as the company builds up its client base.
Mr Thorne added: “There is a lot of competition out there but I am confident we are bringing something different to Bristol’s recruitment market.
“We are thrilled to be opening up on Victoria Street – a location which puts us at the heart of Bristol’s community and offers easy access for both clients and candidates.”
