National law firm Bevan Brittan has announced 14 new appointments in its year-end promotions round – eight of them in its Bristol head office.
The promotions include eight legal professionals who have been become senior associates with a further six appointed as associates and are spread across the firm’s four offices in Bristol, Birmingham, Leeds and London.
In Bristol the new senior associates are property lawyers Kevin Dawson and Kate O’Brien, and Liz Fletcher, Lucinda Price and Andrew Spicer – all in commercial and infrastructure.
The new Bristol associates are Aimee Cottam (Property), Annette Parker (medical law) and Trevor Watt (procurement and commercial disputes).
Bevan Brittan managing partner Duncan Weir, pictured below, said: “I would like to congratulate everyone who has been promoted this year, and also commend them for their hard work and professionalism. The appointments demonstrate the evolving quality and strength in depth we have among our people across the firm.
“The appointments reflect the increased business activity we are seeing nationally and in particular in the Midlands and the north of England.”
The promotions follow strong performances by the firm in independent guides to the legal profession. In the Legal 500, the firm has 70 recommended individuals in the 2017 directory, up more than 60% from last year’s 43, while the number of ‘leading lawyers’ has doubled to eight. In Chambers 2018, Bevan Brittan was ranked in 18 practice areas – up one from last year – with four areas achieving Band 1 ranking.
The firm advises more than 300 private sector businesses and is a market-leading law firm across health and social care, housing and local and central government throughout the UK.
