Swiss airline Helvetic Airways is to continue its Bristol-Zurich flights into the summer following the success of the service so far.

The route was launched last December 5 with three flights a week each way and has proved popular with tourists and business travellers in both directions.

From March 25, flights will operate on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, departing Zurich at 11.20am and arriving at Bristol Airport at 12.10pm. The return flight leaves Bristol at 2.45pm, arriving at Zurich at 5.30pm.

Airport aviation director Shaun Browne said: “In the short time the route has been operating it has proved popular with people from across the South West, and we are confident it will go from strength to strength over the coming months.  Not only will this announcement be good news for local businesses with Swiss links, it gives the tourism sector the opportunity to attract more high value visitors to the region this summer.”
