Regional accountancy group Bishop Fleming and Bristol-based engineering consultancy Hydrock are celebrating being included in a national ranking of the best businesses to work for.
Bishop Fleming, which has its largest office in Bristol, appears at number 26 in the prestigious Sunday Times Top 100 Best Companies to Work For list – making it the highest-placed professional services firm in the South West.
Hydrock, which has its head office at Almondsbury and employs more than 400 people across its 17 UK offices, appears in 40th place in the table.
It is the fourth consecutive year it has been in the top 30 – it was 29th last year.
It is Bishop Fleming’s third consecutive year in the table. In 2016, the firm – which has six other offices across the South West and Midlands – ranked at 49 and last year moved up to 42.
Bishop Fleming’s rise up the list this year follows a coveted three-star accreditation in the annual Best Companies survey, one more than 2017. This rating reflects its ‘extraordinary’ levels of workplace engagement and represents organisations that truly excel.
Bishop Fleming chair Ian Smith, pictured, said: “Our 16-place rise is fantastic news for the firm and is a clear reflection of the hard work that we put in to making sure our business remains a great place to work.
“We are committed to recruiting the best people and then helping them to grow and this is reflected in our continuous improvement up the rankings over the last three years. “The fact that the Sunday Times top ranking reflects what our own people think of us as an employer is one of the accolades I am most proud of. Nearly 90% of our people participated in the survey – a fantastic level of engagement.”
The Sunday Times rates the firm as an ‘outstanding’ employer, with a clear commitment to workplace engagement and with the determination to strive for continuous improvement. The accreditation is based on employee feedback and acknowledges those employers that regard people development as a key element of their success.
