Three senior staff members at Bristol’s longest-established national communications and engagement consultancy JBP have been promoted as it looks for new growth opportunities.
James Hargrave has become policy & communications director, James Hinchcliffe strategic engagement director and Julie Williams operations director.
James Hargrave, pictured top, has been with JBP for five years, based in its London office. He has spearheaded public policy campaigns across a range of sectors including Save Kids’ Content, National Eye Research Centre and the award-winning Empower: Access to Medicine.
James Hinchcliffe, pictured centre, joined JBP’s Bristol office nearly three years ago after working as external communications manager for Bath & North East Somerset Council and as a communications manager at NHS England. He has 16 years’ strategic communications, local public affairs and team leadership experience and leads on the development of high-level tenders.
Julie, pictured bottom, originally joined JBP’s Bristol office 20 years ago as a receptionist and administrator. She has climbed the ranks and helped to transform its financial function and now leads the accounts and HR departments.
The promotions follow on from the appointment of Steve Anderson-Dixon as chief executive officer last November, taking over from JBP founder Jennifer Bryant-Pearson, whose new role as founder director has a focus on client development. Jennifer launched JBP 33 years ago with a single office in Bristol.
Mr Anderson-Dixon said: “Integral to our success is our ability to attract and develop talented professionals who are passionate about growth investing and committed to generating attractive returns.
“Julie, James and James embody these qualities, and we are pleased to recognise them for their many contributions.”
Jennifer Bryant-Pearson added: “The opportunity for further growth is really very exciting as we accelerate our strategic plan for what is one of the UK’s leading businesses in the PR, stakeholder engagement and public affairs industry.
“Julie understands the operational needs of the business extremely well and has demonstrated strong leadership of JBP’s financial function. James Hinchcliffe and James Hargrave are part of the next generation of strategic management and public policy directors, and I join my colleagues in congratulating them on their well-deserved promotions.”
JBP has offices in Cardiff, Manchester and Warwick as well as Bristol and London.
