Bristol’s Brew House creative hub – one of the city’s most innovative office conversions – is fully let after securing a third tenant.
Global environmental consultants SLR Consulting has taken 7,162 sq ft in the building, off Temple Way, which has been transformed from a previously vacant four-storey building into trendy loft-style workspace aimed at Bristol’s burgeoning technology, media and telecoms (TMT) sector.
The scheme is the second in the city for London-based Verve Properties – the firm behind the successful Paintworks creative quarter.
The building’s open-plan design retains the distinctive character of the original brewery architecture, including features such as semi-circular arched windows and rock-faced elevations. Bold steel lintels and suspended pendant lighting adds to the industrial character of the fit-out.
SLR is relocating from its base in Pembroke Road to the third and fourth floors of Brew House, joining marketing agency The Zone, on the ground floor and technology company Gresham on the second.
Property agents GVA’s Bristol office secured the deal on behalf of Verve Properties with joint agents Alder King.
GVA associate Alex Riddell said: “The Brew House has introduced dynamic, loft-style office conversions to the city, aimed at the technology, media and technology sectors; the individuality and quality of the refurbishment has been proven with full occupancy.
“Its success has demonstrated the importance that occupiers place on their workplace to retain and attract new talent.”
SLR was represented by its in-house property team. It has taken a 10-year lease at a rent of £21.
The 25,000 sq ft Brew House was originally built for W Rogers Brewery in 1865.
