Employment lawyer Chris Seaton, who joined Bristol-headquartered law firm Burges Salmon 26 years ago, is to become its next senior partner.
Chris, pictured, is the long-standing head of the firm’s employment team. He will take up the role on May 1.
He joined Burges Salmon in 1991 after an 11-year career in the Royal Navy and become a partner in 1999.
As well as leading the employment team, he has also chaired the firm’s international Committee since 2004 and served on its partnership committee since 2011.
In addition to his responsibilities as senior partner, Chris will continue his client-facing role as a partner in the employment team.
He will succeed Alan Barr, who has spent six years as senior partner. Alan will remain with the firm to continue with his client-facing roles as a corporate finance partner and as relationship partner for several the firm’s clients.
Burges Salmon managing partner Peter Morris said: “I’m looking forward to working closely with Chris and to continuing to implement our strategy. Chris brings to his new role an excellent record of accomplishment as a client partner and the firm’s lead on international work and relationships.”
