More than 550 aspiring entrepreneurs and business owners have been helped over the past year by BRAVE Enterprise, the Bristol-based not-for-profit business support organisation.

BRAVE stages training workshops and advice sessions with experienced business mentors to encourage those thinking of starting up in business by themselves or growing a fledgling firm.

Since its launch in the 1980s, it has helped thousands of entrepreneurs start and run profitable businesses.

And according to BRAVE director Liz Sands, pictured, the current economic uncertainty is having little effect on the entrepreneurial spirit in Bristol, which continues to thrive.

“We have seen increased demand for our training workshops, particularly those covering sales and marketing, social media and our new planning for business growth courses,” she said.

“All our workshops are delivered by experienced business professionals to help give people a clearer idea of what running a business entails and to help them grow and prosper.”

BRAVE, based at the Coach House in Upper York Street, also delivers the New Enterprise Allowance scheme locally which helps people who are unemployed and receiving benefits to start their own business.
