South West law firm Foot Anstey has appointed Joanne Rumley as restructuring and insolvency partner in its Bristol-based corporate team.
Joanne, pictured, joins from Bond Dickinson’s Bristol office. She has nearly 20 years’ experience in all aspects of corporate rescue, restructure, turnaround and insolvency including both formal and non-formal procedures.
She has been involved in high-profile transactions, both regionally and nationally, and regularly acts for distress lenders both in acquiring debt or equity and then managing their exposure, including via exit, as well as closely advising directors of businesses in financial difficulty.
Clients include boards of companies, insolvency practitioners, banks, financial institutions, creditors, turnaround specialists, distressed equity investors and stakeholders.
Joanne has vast experience in several industry sectors, including retail, energy, education and health care, and is one of only a few lawyers nationally with experience of the special administration regime for investment banks.

Joanne is the latest in a series of strategic hires at Foot Anstey, which also has offices in London, Taunton, Exeter, Plymouth, Southampton and Truro.
The firm recently reported 20% growth in its key sectors, with overall growth of 12% and turnover increasing to £36m. Over the past five years, turnover has grown by 60% – putting the firm among the fastest-growing in the industry.
