South West-based chartered accountancy firm Milsted Langdon have scooped a prestigious award for the UK’s Best Large Practice.
Partners from the firm joined top accountancy practices in the UK for the final of the inaugural AccountingWEB Practice Excellence Awards held in London recently.
More than 80 firms entered the awards, which resulted in 1,769 companies surveyed, followed by 848 votes in the final judging round from accountants and partners across the country.
After months of scrutiny from clients, peers and a panel of experts, Milsted Langdon was named the best Large Practice in the UK for 2011.
It was a close-run thing however, as Milsted Langdon tied in terms of votes cast in the final round with the firm that achieved second placed. Milsted Langdon pipped them to the post by virtue of its better scores in the client satisfaction surveys.
Jonathan Langdon, chairman of Milsted Langdon, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have been crowned the winner of the UK’s Best Large Practice category at the awards ceremony.
“It is particularly pleasing as the final vote was decided on our client satisfaction surveys. We always try to go the extra mile for our clients and this award is testament to all the hard efforts on the part of our team.
“I’d like to personally thank all our clients for their kind words and all the members of staff at Milsted Langdon. Without their dedication and professionalism this award would never have been won.”
David Clough, head of operations at CCH, who sponsored the event congratulated Milsted Langdon on some “great initiatives, client care and investment in their people”
