Advanced filtration equipment developed in South Gloucestershire by Alderley Process Technologies is to become the firm’s latest package designed for use a major Asian oil field.
Alderley Process Technologies, part of Wickwar-based advanced engineering group Alderley, has won a contract to design, engineer and fabricate a produced water filtration package for a platform in the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) field in the Caspian Sea, about 120km off the coast of Azerbaijan.
The package – to be deployed on the Deep Water Gunashli, West Chirag (DWG) platform – one of the six production platforms on the (ACG) field – will include four filtration vessels designed as a guard filter to protect the reservoir by filtering solids particles.
Alderley Process Technologies has provided eight produced water treatment packages ranging from hydrocyclones – devices that remove solids by centrifugal force – to guard filter packages since 2003 for ACG field.
The latest contract, financial details of which have not been disclosed, was awarded by Surrey firm KBR Overseas Operations.
Alderley Process Technologies managing director Tony Mansfield said: “We are pleased that we have been able to offer another similar filtration package for the DWG platform that will help ensure that our client continues to meet their stringent production and performance targets.”
