South West law firm Foot Anstey is strengthening its sector experience with the appointment of Luke Gabb as a consultant to its energy practice, further building its reputation in the sector.
Luke, pictured, joins from national firm Bond Dickinson where he was a partner and head of energy. He is a specialist in energy generation projects including on and offshore wind, solar and energy from waste projects, as well as the financing and infrastructure of a wide range of energy projects.
Luke, who has more than 20 years’ experience working in the energy sector, has acted for a number of the UK’s major energy companies and is regarded by independent legal sector guides Chambers and Legal 500 as a UK-wide leader in his field.
At Foot Anstey he will be based at its Bristol and Exeter offices and work with its existing team to help shape and develop the firm’s fast-growing practice.
The firm already works for a range of high-profile energy clients, including British Solar Renewables and Clean Earth Energy and is developing a leading practice in energy storage projects.
Foot Anstey managing partner John Westwell said: “Luke’s experience in this area will be invaluable in developing our sector knowledge and insight and helping us continue to deliver exceptional service to our energy clients.
“His role is one of a number of strategic appointments that we are making within the firm that will strengthen our sector experience. He brings with him a wealth of skills and resource to offer our regional, national and international clients.”
The appointment continues to build on Foot Anstey’s growth and sector focus. The firm recently reported 20% growth in its key sectors, with overall growth of 12% and an increase in turnover to £36m.
Over the past five years Foot Anstey’s turnover has grown by 60%, placing it among the fastest growing in the industry. The firm also has offices in Plymouth, Taunton and Truro.
